| 中文描述 | 不成熟的疏鬆和缺少門齒在年老的反芻獸可能導致臨床症狀。最常見於放牧的動物，特別是在砂質土壤的半乾旱地區。牙周病可能也是這種徵候群的重要因素。也有未見其他臨床問題但嚴重地磨耗非永久性牙齒的報告。喪失臼齒可能導致口腔中緊密的反芻物。病原進入牙齒基部可能造成牙根膿瘍，慢性的嚴重牙病也與草料的芒有關。 |

| 英文描述 | Premature loosening and loss of incisor teeth in ageing ruminants can cause clinical signs of unthriftiness. Most common in grazing animals, particularly in semiarid regions with sandy soil. Periodontal disease may play a part in this syndrome. Excessive wear of the deciduous teeth without other clinical problems has also been reported. Loss of molars can lead to impacted cud in the buccal space. Infections entering through the base of the teeth can cause tooth root abscesses, and chonic severe dental disease has been associated with awns. |
