| 英文描述 | Calves and kids developed a syndrome in which they were depressed and weak but not dehydrated or emaciated. Affected calves were usually 2-3 weeks of age; clinical signs in kids developed during the second week of life. Blood analysis showed that they suffered from metabolic acidosis, with depressed bicarbonate levels and a base deficit. Calves may have a slow deep breathing pattern, and a history of diarrhea or oral electrolyte therapy. Most calves and kids respond to intravenous bicarbonate treatment. Dx by response to treatment or blood acid/base analysis. |
