| 英文描述 | Urethral trauma occurs in dogs and cats, often after motor vehicle accidents. Prostatic trauma occurs rarely in the dog but when seen is often associated with blunt trauma and pelvic fractures. Signs are often not evident or are masked by other injuries. Laceration of prostatic urethra should be suspected when there is extravasation of urine into the perineum or abdominal cavity after a history of trauma. Dx by contrast radiography. The ability to void urine does not rule out urethral trauma. Diagnosis, treatment and prognosis in dogs are discussed by Anson. Urethral trauma could also occur in horses, including trauma due to improper use of a stallion ring, and urethral transection has been reported. |
