| 英文描述 | Sheep pox is caused by a CAPRIPOXVIRUS specific for sheep and is found in the Middle East, Asia, and North Africa. This is a serious disease and fatalities occur. Dx by isolation of the virus and titers from animals with pox-like lesions. Involvement of the nose can lead to dyspnea and foot lesions make the animal lame. A virulent goat pox has also been described (Carn et al.). Vaccines are available (Carn et al.). |
