| 英文描述 | Usually on the lips, but some develop lesions on the gingiva, tongue, nostrils, eye, teats, scrotum, limbs, or perineum. Multifocal skin lesions over the body were also described in goats. Young usually affected but previously unexposed adults susceptible and this virus is contagious to humans. Dx by clinical signs and viral identification. Caused by a PARAPOXVIRUS. Teat lesions can cause secondary mastitis. There is no specific treatment, and signs resolve within a 1-month period, although in unusual cases the lesions do not spontaneously resolve, sometimes even leading to the death of the animal. |
