| 英文描述 | Chlorpyrifos (Dursban) is a chlorinated organophosphorus insecticide approved for use as a 'pour on' to control lice and hornflies in beef cattle. Testos- terone seems to potentiate clinical toxicity, and the signs in poisoned bulls may develop rapidly, and resemble toxic rumenitis. Signs of 'classic' organo- phosphate toxicity may be absent. Dx by history, clinical signs, reduced blood cholinesterase activity, and toxicologic studies of the rumen fluid. Treatments include ruminatorics, antimicrobials, vitamins, and the maintainance of fluid and electrolyte balance. The drug pralidoxime, (10-15 mg/kg, SC) has been recommended when economically feasible (Scarratt and Blodgett). The area where the toxic agent was poured on should be washed. The prognosis is guarded. |
