| 英文描述 | Meningoencephalitis of the medulla, pons and adjacent areas of the brain due to LISTERIA MONOCYTOGENES. Moderate increase of CSF protein and cells are common. Dx by clinical signs or necropsy. Signs are due to brain stem involvement. Ocular signs are secondary to facial paresis, but L. MONOCYTOGENES has been associated with ophthalmitis in cattle and sheep. Because there is brain stem involvement animals are usually depressed. Food trapped in the mouth can cause facial swelling. |
