| 中文描述 | 破傷風是一種由破傷風梭狀芽孢桿菌的神經毒素所造成的疾病，細菌會在受感染的傷口中生長。感染此疾病的反芻獸，第一個被發現的症狀通常是鼓脹。因為在毒素還沒有進入到血液前，受感染的動物沒有明顯的臨床症狀，所以很難進行診斷。耳朵與尾巴變的僵直可以做為診斷的特徵。曾經有報告記錄牛群爆發沒有發現傷口的破傷風感染，被認為是自發性破傷風。 |
| 英文描述 | Tetanus is due to the neurotoxin of CLOSTRIDIUM TETANI, which grows in infected wounds. In ruminants one of the first signs commonly noted is bloat. Dx is difficult, with reliance on clinical signs, since the toxin is not demonstrable in the blood of affected animals. There is a characteristic elevation of the ears and tail with generalized stiffness. Outbreaks of tetanus in cattle with no evident wounds have been reported, and described as idiopathic tetanus. |
