| 英文描述 | Seven- to 12-week-old beef calves at pasture in a herd in Scotland developed an enteric disease during each of the years 1989-1992. There was an acute enteritis with about 1/4 of affected calves dying despite treatment. A severe, non-regenerative neutropenia was common in affected calves. At necropsy there was ulceration and necrosis of the mucosa of the abomasum and small and large intestine; the lesions resembled those seen with bovine viral diarrhea, but investigations showed no evidence of active BVD virus infection in the herd, and the cause of this syndrome is unknown. |
