| 英文描述 | A group of 5-6 month-old dairy calves developed sudden death or signs of heart failure. Cardiac catheterization of some cases confirmed pulmonary hypertension and right-sided heart failure. At necropsy there were signs of heart failure and microscopically there were pulmonary arteritis and periarterial sclerosis of small to medium-sized bronchial arteries. This syndrome resembles high-mountain disease, but the calves had not been at elevated altitudes and the histologic lesions differed from those seen in high mountain disease (medial hypertropy of the pulmonary arteries). The cause of this syndrome is not known, nor is there a treatment. |
