| 英文描述 | Hyena disease is a syndrome affecting both sexes and many breeds of cattle in which there is slow growth and relative underdevelopment of the hindquarters compared the the front of the animals, giving them a resemblance to a hyena. Outbreaks of this syndrome have occurred. A 'bunny hopping' gait can sometimes be seen. This condition is caused by premature closure of physes of long bones. The cause has not been established, but hypervitaminosis might be a cause. There can be thickening of the crest and stiff bristles along the midline. Animals are normal at birth but develop signs as they age. |
