| 英文描述 | Feedlot veterinarians describe convulsions in 6-12 month old cattle that are believed to be related to intestinal coccidiosis. The relationship between the coccidia and nervous signs is unclear. Edema of the brain is reported at necropsy. Dx requires rule out of other causes of seizuring, and demonstration of coccidiosis in affected animals. The duration of seizures increases and the interval between them decreases as the disease progresses. About 75% of affected animals die within the first 5 days of the illness, with survivors returning to normal after about 1 week. Death is often due to respiratory arrest during seizures. |
