| 英文描述 | A suspected storage disease of the nervous system was described in Hereford calves. This problem was described on a single farm in Australia, and affected about half of the calves born on the farm. Signs started at 5-7 months of age, with death 3-10 weeks later. Signs were progressive. At necropsy lesions consisted of multiple intraneuronal, cytoplasmic laminated cytosomes in restricted areas of the brain stem, together with extensive loss of myelinated fibers in the motor columns of the cord. The cause is unknown, but a genetic susceptibility to an undisclosed seasonal environmental toxin was considered a possibility. |
