| 英文描述 | Retinal detachment was described in four Irish Fresian cattle from an in-bred herd. Affected animals appeared to have decreased vision, starting at about 6 months of age, with the exception of one which was affected from birth. They were not completely blind, but were cautious, and held their heads in an unusually elevated position when approached. Examination showed retinal folds, with retinal detachment. In some cases there was also attachment of the retina to the caudal lens, or persistent pupillary membrane, both of which were associated with cataracts. The cause is unknown, but a hereditary basis is suspected. No treatment has been described. |
