| 英文描述 | A series of calves in Kagoshima prefecture, Japan, were affected by an epidemic of congential abnormalities such as hydranencephaly, cerebral defects, cerebellar hypoplasia or agenesis, non-purulent encephalitis and arthrogryposis similar to those seen in calves affected by arthropod-borne viruses such as Akabane virus. Calves examined during the outbreak were negative for the known arthropod-borne viruses, and it was believed that this condition represented the occurrence of a new type of viral infection in southern Japan (Kitano et al.). |
