Dandy-Walker syndrome, hydrocephalus, partial or complete absence of the cerebellar vermis, and a retrocerebellar cyst representing expansion of the roof of the 4th ventricle have been reported in dogs, cats, calves, sheep, and foals. Hydrocephalus can occur in any species, and can be congenital or acquired. Can cause dystocia in the dam. In hydranencephaly the cerebral hemispheres are reduced to a membranous sac. |
