| 英文描述 | Lysosomal storage disease due to deficiency of alpha mannosidase. Hereditary, autosomal recessive. Seen in Angus, Galloway and Murray Grey cattle. Can cause stillbirth in Galloway calves. Dx by necropsy and measurement of blood mannosidase. Heterozygotes can be detected by testing blood mannosidase. Signs may be present at birth, but do not usually start until the calf is a few months old. Most affected animals die within a year and there is no treatment. There is significant variation in the phenotypic expression of this disease within and between breeds. |
