| 英文描述 | Excess potassium can cause derangement of the acid/base balance with cardiac arrest and death. Clinical signs and death were seen in calves given greater than 0.58 g/kg potassium orally. Intravenous potassium was used to kill horses for purposes of insurance fraud; serum potassium levels might be of value for diagnosis in such cases (Casteel et al.). |
