| 英文描述 | Cause unknown, possibly hereditary or viral. Signs at birth or up to 8 months months of age. In some cases single or multiple seizures last from 3 to 12 hours and are followed by residual ataxia; in an outbreak in crossbred Poll Hereford cattle the seizures were not as severe. Purkinje cell degeneration generally seen at necropsy, although in an outbreak in Poll Herefords Purkinge cell lesions were absent in some neonates with clinical signs and present in 2 older animals that had recovered from the clinical condition. Dx by history and histopathology. Signs may be precipitated by excitement. Seen in Angus and Angus cross cattle, Charolais, and Poll Hereford cross cattle. |
