| 英文描述 | Protoporphyria in cattle is a congenital metabolic defect of porphyrin metabolism inherited as a recessive trait. The major clinical sign is photosensitization, but seizures have also been described. This condition differs from the more common erythropoetic porphyria because in protoporphyria anemia and discoloration of the teeth and urine are not present despite the fact that porphyrins are elevated. Uurine and teeth do not fluoresce in protoporphyria, but under Wood's light whole blood will fluoresce. Protporphyria has been described in Limousin and blonde d'Aquitane cattle of both sexes. |
