| 英文描述 | A systemic polyarthritis due to CHLAMYDIA agents has been reported in calves. This is similar to the syndrome in lambs and kids. Most common in younger calves. Joint swelling is not a prominent sign, but the calves are stiff, and reluctant to move. Dx by cytologic examination of synovial fluid or impression smears of the joint surfaces looking for elementary bodies. Chlamydial organisms have been recovered from the eyes of cattle with keratoconjunctivitis and the disease has been reproduced, but this agent is not commonly diagnosed in the field. Can be found in association with polyarthritis in calves. Dx by isolation or Giemsa staining of conjunctival smears. |
