| 英文描述 | Some moldy sweet clovers (MELILOTUS ALBA, M. OFFICINALIS), and sweet vernal (ANTHOXANTHUM ODORATUM) contain dicoumarol, which competes with vitamin K, leading to decreased prothrombin formation and bleeding. A succint description of the pathogenesis of this poisoning was provided by Puschner et al. Poisoning occurs in all species, but most common in cattle. Dx by prothrombin time, dietary history, and analysis of serum and feed for dicumarol concentrations. The fatality rate can be high. Vitamin K1 can be effective for treatment, but vitamin K3 neither treats nor prevents the disease. |
