| 英文描述 | Albinism with light blue and white irises has been reported in Guernsey, Shorthorn, Hereford, Austrian Murboden, Holstein, and Brown Swiss cattle. Also described in Icelandic sheep. Probably inherited as a simple recessive. Albinism is very rare in dogs. Incomplete albinism is inherited as an autosomal dominant in Hereford cattle; most are totally white, but some have patches of pigmentation on the shoulder or hip. Affected animals lack the tyrosine enzyme for manufacture of melanin and have unpigmented skin and irides. Horses have been born with light-cream skin and pink eyes with the exception of a blue edge around the iris, but small spots of pigment can be found in the skin or hooves. Some investigators concluded that the equine autosomal white-inducing gene is lethal to the homozygous state, and that horses considered albinos are heterozygotes. |
