| 英文描述 | In mares, usually due to rectal exam but other causes such as the penis of the stallion are possible, and not all rectal tears are due to trauma; in some horses there is spontaneous rupture of the rectum. First sign is usually blood on the sleeve of a clinician performing a rectal examination. Speculum or gentle palpation can be used to confirm the diagnosis. Also common following pregnancy diagnosis in small ruminants using a rectal probe, and very rarely in cattle following rectal exam. This condition can also occur in dogs and cats, including those subject to sexual abuse. |
