| 英文描述 | Classical hemophilia is one of the common bleeding disorders of dogs, and is inherited as a sex-linked trait in many breeds. Almost all affected animals are males, but in very rare cases females may be affected. Rare in horses, but has been reported in TB, SB, QH and Arab foals. Signs usually noted within a few weeks of birth, but delayed onset has been seen in mild hemophilia. Hematomas may form or there can be bleeding into joints or body cavities. There can be nervous signs due to bleeding into the central nervous system. Dx by demonstrating deficiency of factor VIII and normal von Willebrand's factor. Cats do not seem to be commonly or severely affected, but might have protracted postsurgical bleeding. Has been seen in Hereford calves which bled following castration. |
