| 英文描述 | An idiopathic outbreak of symmetrical focal poliomyelomalacia of the ventral horns of the spinal cord was reported in Kenyan sheep. Sudden onset of signs in most cases, and tended to affect young animals. Signs were occasionally worse in the forelimbs than in the hind limbs. An outbreak of a similar problem was recently reported from Ghana, with progression to recumbency within a few days of the onset of signs. Calves were described which were normal at birth but developed hind- and/or foreleg weakness at from 10 days to 4 months of age. Focal symmetrical poliomalacia was present in the spinal cord of the calves at necropsy. The cause is unknown. Dx at necropsy; there is no treatment. |
