| 英文描述 | The toxic alkaloid swainsonine, found in the leguminous plant SWAINSONA, is a potent inhibitor of mannosidase, and causes neurologic and behavioral abnormalities in animals that eat 50% of their food ration as SWAINSONA for 6-8 weeks. Vacuolation of tissues due to accumulation of mannoside seen at necropsy. Dx by evidence of ingestion, histopathology and histochemistry. Limited to Australia. |
