| 英文描述 | Primary iron deficiency anemia is uncommon in animals, but iron deficiency occurs secondary to blood loss. Microcytic hypochromic anemia might be present. Dx by decreased blood iron and increased total iron binding capacity. Clinical anemia can occur on housed lambs during the first month after birth, and veal calves are deliberately fed low iron diets to keep the meat pale. |
