| 英文描述 | Bovine leukocyte adhesion deficiency (BLAD) is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder affecting Holstein cattle. Beta-2-integrin adhesion molecules on the surface of leukocytes have limited expression, hindering leukocyte adherence and passage from the vascular system to a site of infection. Cattle that are homozygous for the recessive allele are more susceptible to infection that might lead to premature death and have a persistent neutrophilia. Bulls in artificial insemination are screened for BLAD and clinical disease has become progressively more rare as carrier bulls were eliminated from widespread use. The diagnosis can be confirmed by DNA-polymerase chain reaction analysis. |
