| 英文描述 | Papular Stomatitis is caused by a parapoxvirus, and affects young cattle, causing raised plaque-like lesions of the muzzle, nose and oral mucosa. Some feedlot veterinarians believe that this is related to loss of hair on the tail switch, called 'rat tail'. Chronic bovine papular stomatitis, with generalized focal exudative necrotic dermatitis covering the entire body surface was seen in Israel; this led to death of affected animals (Yeruham et al. 1994). Dx by signs and virus identification. Clinical signs are usually mild, and there is no specific treatment. No vaccine is available. There is a report that this disease was apparently transmitted to man (Yeruham et al. 1991). |
