| 英文描述 | Cattle can be found dead in feeding pens that had no premonitory sign of illness and no definitive postmortem lesions. While some believe that this syndrome represents inadequate diagnostic testing, a case definition for 'sudden death syndrome' has been described for cattle that have completed the 30-45 day acclimatization phase of the feeding period (De Groot et al.). The syndrome includes: death without observed premonitory signs of illness; rapid decomposition of the carcass with gas; accelerated decomposition; congestion of tissues cranial to the axilla; and grossly discernible hemorrhage in tissues associated with the trachea and cervical musculature. Dx by ruling out other causes of death at necropsy. The cause is unknown. |
