| 英文描述 | Panniculitis is an inflammatory condition of the subcutaneous fat. Horses were described which had recurrent bumps in areas of subcutaneous tissue which were painful in some animals and often associated with systemic signs of illness during development of the lesions. Diffuse and granulomatous panniculitis was seen and no inciting agent could be found. Response to systemic steroid treatment is usually good in panniculitis. Dx by biopsy and exclusion of an infectious agent. Can be secondary lameness if limbs affected. Panniculitis was reported in a steer with recurring subcutaneous swellings; there were no other signs in the steer. |
