| 英文描述 | Congestive heart failure is a clinical syndrome characterized by pulmonary and/or systemic congestion and low cardiac output resulting from myocardial dysfunction. Left ventricular failure results in pulmonary venous congestion and pulmonary edema. Right ventricular failure leads to venous congestion and edema which may present as ascites (more common in dogs) or pleural effusion (more common in cats). Affected animals might show orthopnea, restlessness, cough when lying down. Diagnosis is based on clinical signs, ECG, imaging, and history. Can be associated with aortic thromboembolism in the cat. |
