| 英文描述 | A disease of young red-haired Cocker Spaniels characterized by neurologic signs and neuronal degeneration in several areas of the brain was described. There was progressive ataxia and mental deterioration. At necropsy there was diffuse nerve cell loss, gliosis, axonal degeneration, and some demyelination in several areas of the brain. The pathogenesis of this disease is unknown, and there is no treatment. This is probably a genetic defect. Definitive diagnosis requires histologic examination of the CNS. |
