| 英文描述 | Primary lymphedema is an hereditary developmental abnormality of the lymphatic system resulting in pitting edema of the dependent portions of the trunk and limbs. Affected dogs may die shortly after birth. Edema affects front limbs hind limbs, or all limbs and trunk. Edema rarely regresses in dogs that survive and these dogs may be predisposed to secondary infections. Dx by signs, rule-out of other causes of edema, and lymphangiography. Inherited as an autosomal dominant trait. Seen in several breeds, including the Bulldog, German Shorthaired Pointer, Borzoi, Great Dane, Laborador Retriever, and Old English Sheepdog. Primary lymphedema has been diagnosed in a kitten using dye absorption tests (Jacobsen and Eggers). |
