| 英文描述 | Congenital corneal opacities are common in the dog. Opacities may be superficial or deep, multifocal or diffuse. Superficial opacities are seen in animals born with eyes open or at 10-15 days of age, and causes may include intrauterine or fetal inflammation, respiratory, metabolic, or toxic factors. Deep opacities are unilateral or bilateral, and often regress in the first 6 months of life. Occurs in any breed. Often associated with persistent pupillary membrane, and iridial tissue may or may not be attached to the cornea. Dx is based on age, ophthomologic exam. |
