| 英文描述 | Familial stomatocytosis-hypertrophic gastritis was described in the Dutch breed of setter dogs known as the Drentse patrijshond. Both sexes were affected, and signs developed at 3-19 months of age. Red cell shape was abnormal (stomatocytosis), and there were increase osmotic fragility, hemolytic anemia, and increased liver enzymes and serum bilirubin. The gastric mucosa had hypertrophic gastritis, as determined by gastroscopy and histology, and there was histologic evidence of liver disease. Renal cysts and polyneuropathy were seen in some affected animals. This might be due to an autosomal recessive hereditary defect of lipid metabolism (Slappendel et al.). No treatment was described, and all affected dogs were euthanized within 1 year of diagnosis due to the poor prognosis or the progression of signs. |
