| 英文描述 | An acid alpha-glucosidase deficiency has been reported in the Lapland dog. This leads to the accumulation of glycogen in tissues, glycogen storage disease type II. The main signs seen are muscle weakness and vomiting. Megaesophagus and cardiac failure may occur. Dx by study of leukocyte glucosidase levels. Signs are slowly progressive, starting at about 6 months of age and leading to death at 10-18 months of age. Inherited as a recessive. |
