| 英文描述 | A slowly progressive distal polyneuropathy has been reported in Doberman Pinschers. Signs start at under a year of age, and initially the toes are lifted from the ground when the animal is standing. Rear limb flexion, hindlimb weakness, and atrophy then develop over a 1-3 year period. In later stages of the disease the forelimbs are also involved. Atrophy and weakness of the muscles of the head, with possible dysphagia, also occur in late stages of the disease. Dx by history and neurologic electro- diagnostic procedures. Dx confirmed by histology of the distal portions of nerves. A similar syndrome was described in a Great Dane, with signs starting at about 14 months of age. |
