Coxofemoral joint range of motion was limited, especially when the joint was extended; signs were improved following surgery. All dogs tested had below-normal levels of von Willebrand factor antigen, which may have predisposed those dogs to this sydrome due to microvascular bleeding. Radiography may show subtle perioseal reactions or soft tissue radiodensities in the hip area. The lesion resembles myositis ossificans. affected dogs may bleed excessively during surgery. |
