| 英文描述 | This is an infection limited to the hair follicle, caused by STAPHYLOCOCCUS INTERMEDIUS. May be due to poor grooming, hormonal factors, seborrhea, parasites, irritants, or allergies. May regress spontaneously. Similar to impetigo in that it is typically found in young animals in the inguinal or axillary areas. Characteristic feature is an inflammatory pustule with a hair shaft protruding from the center. The onset of signs may be sudden. |
