| 英文描述 | Narcolepsy is characterized by excessive and inappropriate sleepiness and pathological manifestations of rapid eye movement sleep. Cataplexy is a decrease in muscle tone and depression of some spinal reflexes characterized by sudden collapse, and is the most prominent component of the narcoleptic syndrome, although excessive sleeping without catalepsy may occur. May only be partial, resulting in stumbling and collapse. Most cases are sporadic, but in Dobermans and Laboradors it is transmitted as an autosomal recessive. Excitement or feeding might induce signs. Narcolepsy has been described in cats but appears to be very rare. |
