| 英文描述 | A syndrome of trigeminal neuritis has been reported in dogs and cats, and seems to be the most common neurological cause of inability to close the mouth in dogs. Affected animals suddenly lose the ability to close the jaw, although swallowing is usually unaffected. Horner's syndrome may be observed. A bilateral nonsuppurative neuritis is found in all motor branches of the trigeminal nerve. Sensory perception of the head is normal. Recovery usually occurs in 1-9 weeks. The cause is unknown, and repeated occurences are rare. |
