| 英文描述 | Otitis is one of the most common diseases of dogs, particularly dogs with drooping ears or excessive hair in the ear. Signs can vary from purulent disease of the outer ear to severe otitis interna with neurologic signs. Dx by otoscopic examination. Less common in cats unless there is a polyp in the ear canal or other cause. Several different bacteria and fungi can cause otitis, and DEMODEX can cause otitis externa in dogs and cats; primary secretory otitis media with highly viscous mucus in the middle ear was described in Cavalier King Charles spaniels. A syndrome of hemifacial spasm and possible Horner's syndrome has been seen with otitis media. In severe cases para-aural abscesses may form, with swelling of the parotid area and sinus formation through the overlying skin. |
