| 英文描述 | Metaldehyde is a common ingredient in snail and slug poisons. Clinical signs seen soon after ingestion, and include ataxia, hyperesthesia, muscle tremors, opisthotonus, and continuous convulsions. May be confused with strychnine poisoning. Dx by signs, history of snail bait use, examination of vomit (after giving emetic) for pellets and acetaldehyde odor, rule-out other causes. |
