| 英文描述 | Spina bifida refers to a developmental defect characterized by the failure of fusion of the vertebral arches, with or without protrusion or dysplasia of the spinal cord or its membranes. Severity of clinical signs depends on extent of lesion. English Bulldog may be predisposed. Presenting signs usually are referable to neuromuscular deficits, or fecal incontinence. Dx by breed, age, signs, and myelography. Marked skin depression at lumbosacral junction is suggestive, in concert with clinical signs. |
