| 英文描述 | This is a rare cause of dermatitis in the dog and cat. Lesions are usually seen on sparsely haired areas of contact regions such as the ventral abdomen, paws, tail, thorax, neck, scrotum, point of chin, lips, nose, pinnae, and perineum. Depending on the allergen, level of pruritus and seasonality will vary. More than 1 animal affected suggests primary irritant. Dx is based on history, physical exam, provocative exposure, and patch testing. Secondary pyoderma or sebborhea may be present. Plastic dishes are one of the more common causes of erythema and hypopigmentation of the lips and muzzle. Both immediate and delayed hypersensitivity reactions can occur in horses exposed to agents such as soaps, sprays, tack, blankets, beding, or grooming aids. Dx by history and ruling out other causes. |
