| 英文描述 | Tonsillitis is common in the dog, rare in the cat. If unilateral a foreign body may be suspected. Often secondary to diseases causing chronic vomition, cough, or contamination of the nasopharynx (cleft palate etc.) Primary tonsillitis is most common in young small breed dogs, and may be related to maturation of the pharyngeal defense systems. Often recurrent. Should be differentiated from squamous cell and lymphosarcoma which may cause tonsillar enlargement. Rarely severe cases may interfere with upper airway airflow or swallowing. A palatine tonsil cyst caused clinical signs in a dog. |
