| 英文描述 | This is most often a complication of chronic mitral valvular insufficiency, and is most common in older males of the Cocker, Poodle, or Dachshund breeds. Other underlying causes are possible. Reported in cats with cardiomyopathy. Hemopericardium or muffled heart sounds may or may not be present. Dx by signs, exam, radiography, EKG, pericardiocentesis. Should be suspected when an animal with mitral insufficiency suddenly develops a globular heart shape, and may be clinically associated with syncope or seizure. |
