| 英文描述 | In this disease, progressive neurologic impairment develops gradually in dogs or cats. These are usually older animals, but there is a report of this condition in a 9-month-old cat. The prognosis is usually poor. Initially there is weakness which may be asymmetric with periods of remission. May be misdiagnosed as 'shifting lameness'. Signs may include facial paresis, loss of voice volume, hyporeflexia, abnormal postural reactions, weakness of 1 or more limbs progressing to tetraparesis. Dx is by signs, rule-out of other causes; EMG, conduction times, nerve biopsy help confirm diagnosis. |
